my WRITING PHILOSOPHY

writing is fun! these rules are just how i write personally :3... no one needs to follow these its just... my... own... thing... but its worth for you to consider too!

FIRSTLY

punctuation! punctuation is GOOD! use it all the time-- EXCEPT. dont end paragraphs or single sentences with dots. so:

welcome to the internet ✓
welcome, to the internet. have a look around ✓

welcome, to the internet. have a look around. ✗

i dont know why it just gets me the wrong way. and just feels.. overly professional, pedantic, smug and unnecessary. like the sentence has already ended you dont need more punctiuation to further denote that!

aside from when screaming like "THE. END." there its used to show that it was said like... strained, like... OK i think u understand right?????? ;w;

SECONDLY

capitalisation!... its... uncessary too. like you can already read and understand everything theres literally no need for it, it just strains you while writing. when everything is a single case, you write much more freely and get more thoughts out, instead of having to worry about pressing shift/caps every 10 seconds

as a small note, in my language (ქართული), there is no uppercase! all letters are a single thing. and yk? thats great! thats how it should be everywhere! if you REALLY want to emphasis it, just make the letters bigger!

speaking of emphasis, if i want to emphasise a word, or a sentence, or show screaming and whatnot, only THEN u can use uppercases!!

THIRDLY

accent! you mightve noticed i spell in a more bri'ish way... no. i just pick whatever writing i like the most. the point of writing is THE FLOW. if you cant FLOW while writing... then you fail! so i personally got used to "colour" and british spelling. but "mum" is... not... good... i have to be aware of myself when typing "mum" and move my hands around weirdly to write it. and also it just... looks bad, like u? really? for "aoh" sound??? "mom" is much better

FOURTH...ly?
...
...
no that sounds weird--

AND LASTLY

there are no rules! really! english doesn't have a language governing body like l'academie francaise that decides how english should be spoken or written. so just cause you mispell, write weird grammar sometimes, etc. it doesnt matter!! that doesn't rid english of its english status. the point of language is communication anyway, if someone understands you freely without them putting much effort, THAT'S IT. thats it! thats all that language is at the end of the day

also uh...
4.5-ly
... uh... when do i use " ' "? like in "don't"... whenever i want! depending on my professionalism mood

SO IN CONCLUSION write however you want

If you still write in a professional way, like this.

thats ok! just make sure youre doing this cuz you like it, and not cuz you think youre forced to do it

also what i said doesnt apply to the tdfr essay cuz i wrote that a while ago and didnt have these "standards" (lol) before
