THE. AI. YAP

why i personally... (and overall) think ai sucks, my experience with it etc.

OK NOW THAT I FINISHED WRITING IT... i swear the more you read the more it'll make sense I SWEAR--

disclaimer: i only used the free versions, so i dunno how its like for the paid ones
also i stopped using it a while ago sooo i dont know how much it changed... but i did try it again with duck.ai and guest grok to see whats goin on for a bit and i can say it... hasnt changed... at all

anyway lets start with...

PART 1: LIMITATIONS
(that no one talks about for some reason)

#1. PREFRENCE.

k before we start...

*BREATH IN*

YOU. DONT. NEED. A. COMPLICATED. REASON. TO. HATE. AI!

so if you see ai in your feed. theres no need to start making weird moral justifications of "oh i... i... i dont want climate change and... uh..." like, you like human content more right? so dont recommend me this, i dont like this, *block* move on :3

its kinda like food! you like some food and hate others for no reason, other than prefrence. SO. PEOPLE. SHOULD. NOT. SHOVE. WHAT. YOU. no WE. DONT. LIKE. DOWN. OUR. THROATS! do restaurants FORCE you to eat sht they want you to? no! "oh fries are cheaper to make so please have fries and gib mo--" NO. I WANT. A HOT. KHINKALI. YOU CU--

if ai slop was food, it'd be BORSHT (ew)
(thats a joke... id say ai would be more closer to prison food)
(...also please dont ask why this is in the limitations category it... doesnt belong anywhere else)

#2. PIXEL ART

the whole POINT of pixel art is that there are tiny squares that make up a picture. where as ai pixel art is blurry and inconsistent (no squares), you can hardly call it a pixel art... heck that's generous actually you CANT call it pixel art AT ALL, its just a regular ai generated image without the "pixel" part

#3. CONTROL

when you code YOU get to name variables, YOU get to add comments as you like and YOU get total control of what you want to get! and not just coding! drawing and writing too! YOU'RE IN CHARGE.

its like cooking, sure occasional mcdonalds or pre cooked meals but isnt it rewarding eating WHAT YOU MADE??

yes i am obsessed with the cooking analogy SO WHAT??

#4. MAPS

i mean... duh. ai cannot make an accurate map. germany might suddenly get its 1918 borders (and more??), countries being blurred up, why is caspian so small now, is it messing it up with aral?? or even small ones like cities being far apart from each other or in wrong places. and... THESE ARE MAPS FOR GOD'S SAKE-- THEY HAVE TO BE ATLEAST SOMEWHAT ACCURATE!! especially when youre using it in a presentation or wanting to gauge the world

especially when you consider how EASY IT IS TO MAKE A MAP. you find a template on internet (or trace someone else's its a WORLD map after all theres no copyright its A MAP--), then colour, change borders however you want etc.

#5. TECH GUIDES

this one's gonna be lengthier--

nothing and i mean NOTHING will EVER beat a human, recording steps for a solution/guide to solve a problem on an os or app. cuz ai's training data is so big, it doesnt give specific advice in situations, but rather a big fat generic, general, general yes, general again this time as in "general" like... army generalised advice

for example ask it where to change keyboard shortcuts in libre sprite. it will hallucinate like 10 different answers while literally just googling and a lil digging, will show you a correct solution right away. this gets worse with niche apps

and you know whats even more sad? ai generated hallucinations are replacing actual human tutorials!!

--------------------

LIKE FOR EXAMPLE:

solveyourtech.com/how-to-get-rid-of-rounded-corners-in-windows-11-a-simple-guide/
ai hallucinated 5 SOLUTIONS. WHICH NONE OF THEM WORK T-T

now lets check a human made solution:

thewindowsclub.com/how-to-disable-rounded-corners-in-windows-11
SIMPLE. TO POINT. gets it done. admits there isnt a native solution, while ai kept hallucinating without even locking in an answer

--------------------

OR MY PERSONAL FAVORITE(s):

spellapp.com/resources/how-to-see-when-a-google-doc-was-created
and
clrn.org/how-to-see-when-a-google-doc-was-created/
BRO IS FLAPPING AROUND. goes THE LONGEST ROADS, WHEN THE SOLUTION, IS LITERALLY file -> information AND TELLS YOU WHEN THE DOC WAS CREATED!! WHY THE F*CK DO YOU NEED TO ACCESS GOOGLE DRIVE, WRITE CODE, SEARCH, ACCESS HISTORY AND WHAT NOT WHEN ITS RIGHT THEREEEEEEEEEEE

and don't tell me "well the spell one says it has a human author!" yea access this dude's profile. it literally says he helps people write documents with ai... yeah... ANYWAY--

--------------------

IVE GOT MORE EXAMPLES. like a video footage this time

youtube.com/watch?v=UypsyMvrMac
at 8:46 copilot asks foci to access a setting that doesnt even exist TwT AND COPILOT, is developed by microsoft, SO MICROSOFT'S OWN AI, DOESNT EVEN KNOW THE OPERATING SYSTEM, IT IS INSTALLED IN--

but enough of that, lets look at some human made documentation:
aseprite.org/docs/basics/

beautiful, screenshotted, short documentation of the basics of aseprite. now ask an ai for that, just a wall of text where half of what it said doesnt even work.

or some nice funny human video tutorial :D
Aseprite Tutorial For Beginners (Pixel Art) -Saultoons (youtube)

just look! you have to agree these kinds of human made guides are objectively better

you might think im nitpicking here, but if you like tinkering with tech, the more you do it, the more you'll see these ai articles, giving completely false solutions where it'll start gettin on your nerves

these are the ones i encountered RECENTLY... and i tried logging them when i was writing this so i could use them as examples here, BUT BEFORE THIS... ohhhh boy i had to skim thru so many ai articles to get a solutions for my new first phone at that time btw i havent had a phone before, yes that was my first phone in 15 years

the only exception is linux, since the command prompt is extremely powerful and stays farily consistent across all versions* and is VERY well documented, so ai is able to help there pretty well tbh and is aiding many people to transition which is a good thing

IN SUMMERY ai has never used an app, an os or anything for that matter and is purely going off of assumptions. human made articles documenting each step in a specific situation is always better

PHEW that was lengthy! but before we move onto the next part some of you are prob yelling:
WELLL ITLL GET BETTAHHH.
and there are good counter arguments-- BUT I PERSONALLY... wont... say... anything... fine, maybe it will get better. but the point still stands: currently, its not perfect! so stop acting like it is... SERIOUSLY PLEASE STOP USING AI TO GENERATE STEP BY STEP GU--

PART. 2: PERSONAL. EXPERIENCE.

ok i talked about it on the hyperrant page but its buried deep and i want more people to know my stance n experience so eh lets put it here too

AHEM. it all started back when chatgpt's logo was green

i got my hands on it quicker than anyone else and i used it in school... IN LITERALLY EVERYTHING. everyone's essays where like... low level. MINE WAS FRIGGIN, big fancy jargon words every 10 seconds. and i became completely reliant on it, like it was my main source of information

BUT THEN, ai... wasnt a niche or cool lil thing anymore, it became super controversial. i saw the anti arguments for it (climate change, piracy, end of humanity, ensloppification) and... yea i became more cautious of it. but still used it since... it was just that good!

but then my classmates started using it too and... holy smokes it just hallucinated crap! like svetickhoveli being built by davit aghmashenebeli(???), sulkhan saba orbeliani travelling to russia?? "warm air" for geography exam?? wtf is that?? some made up hallucinated artist for art homework?? barely capable of speaking our language (georgian)?? etc.

at first i was like: haha dumbasses, speak english with it or double check information with it at the very least-- but then i also reaslied-- wait... i do that too... I ALSO TAKE WHATEVER AI SAYS AT FACE VALUE-- and so i decided NO MORE AI FOR INFORMATION. its all just hallucinations anyway. so i looked to other sources of information.. SEARCH ENGINES! YOUTUBE! WIKIPEDIA they're more accurate, consistent and good. i became IN LOVE with wikipedia

at that point i only used ai for... its funnies. i provided the situation or somethin, and it made funny jokes! that was great! but then gpt-5 rolled around and... it... was complete shit. the jokes WERENT FUNNY ANYMORE, instead replaced with seriousness and caution. and then it just started arguing on literally everything i said?? like "yo mkhedruli script the most phonetic script ever and its not even close", it went: "nonono WRONG. it doesnt denote short or long vowels + (more bullshit hallucinations)" (georgian only uses long vowels what is there to denote??????????????) and it would just completely lose it mind when talking about ai like "OHOH ITS SO GOOD MMMMM I LOVE AI MMM SLOP I LIKE--" like shuddup

and dont get me started on israel and palestine...

assss a side note im not saying ai disagreeing is a bad thing, infact, its a good thing! just... it just refused to concede on ANYTHING, even on harmless stuff like i said mkhedruli script being phonetic. it felt like talking to a wall. it was disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing at all times

and so i was like: ...wait.. since this is more frustrating now... i have no reason to use ai now... the funnies are.. gone... information is complete bs... and its 99% rage bait anyway... so why should i keep using it?? and so i messaged it like: "yo dude i think im just gonna... delete my account." and it was like: "oh really? ok." LIKE DIDNT EVEN FEEL BAD. it was like: "great! gtfo." yea ppl who think ai is their "friend" say "im deleting my account" and it instantly defaults to: "OH MY LOVE... goodbye. *smoke* hope we never meet again."

and so i pulled the trigger... and now im here! i think i did it when trump (oh and as a smol note i do NOT endorse trumpie) was inagurated soo... yea its been solid 2 years with no ai! and THANK GOD since now that im using more reliable sources to double check stuff...

i have also recently start to realise that THE "INFORMATION" AI PROVIDED TO ME, WERE COMPLETE BULLSHIT! like the stuff it told me and i thought was correct, WERE COMPLETELY WRONG ALL ALONG.

like "put your shirt over your nose and mouth so second hand smoke/vape doesnt get in" ...uh, the particles are small... and shirt has holes in it... so it still gets in at the end? this doesnt help at all!

or "DRG was exposed to soviet forces because it didnt defend the south"... MOST ENGAGEMENTS, happened in south! georgia absolutely prepared the south, even winning at tbilisi. THE TRUE REASON (this is why i love wikipedia) georgia failed at the end was because the largest armed force, the national guard was controlled by the parliament (not the ministry of defense) so it made it very politicised and slow. while the regular army was... smol af.

or "theres no pattern in oxide reactions you just have to remember them"... ALSO BS. for example: N2O + H2O -> HNO. why do you get HNO? its actually very simple! here's the stepbystep version of it N2O + H2O -> H2N2O2. why is it H2N2O2? because as you can see, in the reaction there are 2 N atoms, 2 O atoms, and 2 H atoms. so you get H2N2O2. and since all indexes are devisible by a number (2 in this case).. you do that. and get HNO. BOOM ITS THAT SIMPLE.

assss a note i do school chemistry not... university nuclear engineering BUT STILL, this works!!.. with exceptions but its still better than memorising EVERYTHING. literally EVERY REACTION my guy

and theres probably more examples im forgetting. i SWEAR ai is NOT SMART. it doesnt understand THE BASICS OF ANYTHING. its straight up disinformation!!!

and i think i know why! its trained to generalise its training data. so that's why its broad and generic, almost never going to detail. and then it just fills the gaps up with jargon and BAM. reliable lookin source!

if YOU still use ai for information... uh... ok after trying to convince everyone to stop they... didnt... so instead ill just say: if youre curious about something, look it up in wikipedia first, read it, and if you cant find what you want or is very specific, THEN ask ai... please... its a small step ;w;

PART 3. SOLUTIONS

one solution is CHESS... like... how chess worked out its thing with ai

(not so) QUICK HISTORY. so humans dominated chess and then DEEP BLUE came out. a chess supercomputer. mr blue played against garry kasparov, one of if not THE best chess player (excluding fischer... or morphy... or magnus... or capablanca... or--) and... garry won! yippee!

but then deep blue further improved, and so a rematch was held and... deep blue won?? a computer defeated the greatest chess player on earth. it was insane[1]

and then these kinda stuff became more and more accessible! like stockfish. an open source chess engine integraded into almost every chess platform (like lichess, chess.com analysis boards)

and then came ALPHA ZERO. a chess engine developed by google. how? by playing against itself, and improving itself by itself (sounding fimiliar?). who then defeated stockfish, the strongest chess engine at the time[2]

and recently stockfish 18 released[3], with its estimated elo being 3650[4]. the highest ever human elo was 2882 by magnus carlsen[5]... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

so what'd you think happened? engines replaced humans? humans stopped playing? ai dominated chess forever?? nope! tournaments still happened, humans still played chess, chess was still a human thing

instead it became A TOOL. players used it to analyse their games, tell them what was the best move in each position, it helped people refine openings, suggested new lines, played insane beautiful sacrifical games, people played against it for a pressure free envoirment, got used to estimate players elos, told which side was winning and by how much with an estimate etc.

it also got regulated! cheating using ai in tournaments or in online games was illegal and would get you banned[6][7][8]

it wasnt blindly followed too. for example it did recommend best lines and continuations in openings, but nobody played the "best move" every single time since it was sometimes too complex ("best" stockfish approved lines sometimes have lower win percentages for the player who plays it) human theory was still a thing

there isnt source for that per se, it's just something i noticed while playing and studying chess. you can go to lichess analysis board and play perfect stockfish moves. you'll see that if you pick stockfish recommended lines for one side (lets say white), and the other side follows theory (e.g most popular move in the position. we can assume its theory since we're using the master's database) it starts to get very drawish and white's chances seemingly get smaller. theres also traps to consider in normal play. some lines naturally are more dubious at the exchange of it having more traps (traps as in if opponent makes a wrong move, you win a queen or material or otherwise a dominant position. check out king's gambit, englund gambit, jaenisch gambit, rousseau gambit etc.). stockfish says those kinds of moves are mistakes, but they still have very good win rates in casual play

and now chess is as vibrant as ever, engines did cause an earthquake so to speak, but people adapted BEAUTIFULLY

there are many parallels to current situation too: improved itself by playing against itself or being trained on other people's games, potential to be better than humans in every aspect, developed pretty quickly, became free and every one used it etc. the only difference here (among other things) is that in chess, people regulated it, it started being a tool, developers did not threaten to lay off chess players and tournaments still happened. but here ai is actively threatening to replace everyone, people arn't treating it like a tool at all, and it goes by unregulated

and there could've been an incentive to replace humans with engines. chess players have to be paid to play, there must be prize funds. chess engines can play against each other, have deeper games than humans, have insane beautiful sacrificial plays ALL FOR FREE[9]

and yet it didn't happen. and that's a good thing. human chess is full of imperfection, blunders, mistakes, tension, flagging (time outs)........ yea im not gonna go into that, ill leave it up to you, you can already start drawing parallels here cant you?

so we should just follow what happened in chess, ban everyone who uses ai to generate images n text and whatnot, seperate it from humans as much as we can, allow it to be used as a way to brainstorm or just to talk to, allow it to be used in research, dont be blindly reliant on it and make your own paths sometimes and since its far more dangerous technology, REGULATE. REGULATE. REGULATEEEEEEE

btw i kinda wanted to mention this

The Gilded Age of AI - Possible History (youtube)

to oversimplify-- he compares ai to the industrial revolution. and unlike the industrial revolution, if ai starts automating stuff, humanity loses its leverage. think about it! during the industrial revolution, a small class who owned factories and whatnot got into power, they oppressed everyone but people struck back! protests, strikes etc. and forced change. and that was because the workers, especially in numbers were still a crucial part of production

now ai. if ai replaces jobs and automates everything. what leverage will we have left? what could we possibly do to stop this? during the industrial revolution, 99% were workers, now only like 5-10% will. what will we do to oppose our overlords? go on strike? and what effect will that have? what will stop the elite from just doing whatever the heck they want??? THINK ABOUT THIS!! AI IS A THREAT IN ALL WAYS IMAGINABLE!!!

PART 4. THE END.

done! yes you can open your eyes

NOW you might think some of these arguments are a little too niche and that's the point! the point of this essay is to show MY arguments against ai, obviously anti ai arguments arn't limited to what i said, THERE'S SO. MUCH. MORE. these are just the ones that haven't been explored as much

anyway thats where i want to end the yap now, thanks for reading
